Flu Vaccines

Even if you are healthy, it is important to get an annual influenza vaccine. Influenza can make you quite sick or even cause serious illness that can lead to hospitalisation or even death, and your flu vaccine will provide yourself and those you care for with protection against the virus.

There is a private cost for an influenza vaccine.
 
The following people are eligible for free influenza vaccinations:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
  • Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
  • People aged 6 months or over who have:
    • heart disease 
    • severe asthma (requiring frequent medical consultations or use of multiple medications)
    • chronic lung conditions
    • diseases of the nervous system which affect your breathing 
    • impaired immunity 
    • diabetes 
    • kidney disease
    • haemoglobinopathies
    • children aged six months to 10 years on long-term aspirin therapy
  • People aged 65 years or over.
  • Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy

Covid 19 vaccine

We do not provide COVID-19 vaccination. This can be undertaken with your local pharmacy provider.
